Dewey Local Park Gets Makeover Featuring New Street Hockey Rink

Dewey Local Park in Silver Spring has gotten a makeover for the first time since 1990. The renovations are part of Montgomery Parks’ “refresher program.”

The refresher has brought several new features to the park, including an outdoor gym, a playground, picnic area, a dog park area, a “tyke track,” and a $140,000 street hockey rink, built through the Washington Capitals’ Rink Refurbishment initiative.

MyMCMedia spoke to Montgomery Parks Project Manager Linda Komes and Washington Capitals Youth Hockey Development Director Peter Robinson about the new renovations.
