Montgomery County police are looking for a man who inappropriately touched a woman outside of a grocery store near Rockville on March 11, a police statement released Monday said.

About 4:44 p.m., Bethesda police district officers responded to the parking lot of the Harris Teeter at 12525 Park Potomac Ave. for the report of a sex offense that had just occurred, the statement said.

The victim told officers that she noticed the man following her as she shopped in the store. After the woman left the store to the parking lot with her groceries and began to place the bags in her car, the man approached her from behind and touched her inappropriately, police said.

She confronted him and he left the area on foot.

Police have released a composite photo from surveillance images of the man.

Anyone who recognizes the man or who has information about the incident is asked to call the Bethesda police district Investigative Section at 240-773-6084.

For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Tipsters can call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
