Detectives Hope Public Can ID Store’s Robbers
Montgomery County police are asking the public’s help in identifying two men in conjunction with a recent robbery of the designer sunglass and eyeglass store ILORI in Friendship Heights.
About 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5, two men entered the ILORI store, at 5530 Western Ave., and tried on several pairs of glasses and browsed through the displays, police said.
An employee became suspicious of their activities and began to record them on his cell phone, police said. One man saw the filming and threatened to assault the employee, police said. The men stole several pairs of eyeglasses with a total value of $7,000 from a display case and fled, police said.
Anyone who recognizes the men or has information about the robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section at 240-773-5100.
Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest or an indictment.
