Delaney: Comey Firing Either a Cover-up or ‘Incredible Incompetence’ (VIDEO)

Rep. John Delaney said Thursday that President Donald Trump’s firing of James Comey from the FBI is at worst a cover-up and at best, “incredible incompetence.”

Delaney discussed Comey at a tour of BlueStar HonorCare, a Derwood company that markets products that help senior citizens stay in their homes.

At the center of Comey’s firing is Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Rosenstein was the U.S. Attorney for Maryland, who served Democrats and Republicans. Delaney discussed Rosenstein’s role in the Comey imbroglio.

And we asked Delaney about this political future. On May 3, “A Miner Detail,” a blog by Ryan Miner, shared speculation that Delaney was seeking the presidency, fueled in part by the opening of a campaign office in Iowa. The same day, “The Seventh State” gave the post some veracity.

But Delaney had one word for presidential speculation: “Ridiculous.”
