Debelius Rides into Retirement (VIDEO)

Judge John Debelius retired as administrative judge for Montgomery County. Over a career that spanned 16 years, Debelius oversaw the construction of the new courthouse as well as a number of cases.

MyMCMedia talked to several people who knew the judge, and all had a high opinion of him. Here’s what he had to say about that:

“I always tried to approach being a judge from the position that people in court are stressed, they’re anxious, they have problems and issues that brought them there. It’s really the judge’s job not to make that any more difficult, but really trying to facilitate getting problems resolved and having people leave with their dignity intact.”
