Dancing, Costumes, Food Highlight Silver Spring’s Carnival Nation

Veteran’s Plaza in Downtown Silver Spring Sunday was a Carnival Nation.

Colorful clothing, aromatic food smells, face painting and lots of dancing occurred Sunday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Constant music from live bands or disc jockeys filled the plaza as people enjoyed feasting on jerk chicken, macaronie pie, curry goat or chicken, fried plantains and drinks topped off with large pineapples.

DC Carnival Experience, Ronn G Events, Mr. Laroche, BK Entertainment, Beer & Soca, SDot Production sponsored the event.
