Damascus Principal Recognized for Read-a-Thon Results (PHOTOS)
Damascus Elementary School Principal Bill Collins fondly recalls some of the incentives he and his staff used to have their students read during the school’s 2015 Read-a-Thon.
When the students exceeded the ambitious goal of reading for more than 100,000 minutes in 14 days, he lived up to the ultimate incentive: He slept for a night on the school’s roof.
At June 16 ceremonies to recognize the school’s achievements were, left to right: Councilmembers Nancy Navarro, Craig Rice and Marc Elrich.
