  • An attempted theft from a vehicle occurred in the 900 block of Grand Champion Drive, Rockville between 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, 1/13 and 8:48 a.m. on Monday, 1/14.  Forced entry; nothing taken.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 12100 block of Devilwood Drive, Rockville on Tuesday, 1/8 between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.  Forced entry; property taken.
  • A theft occurred at the Hoover MS construction site, 8810 Postoak Drive, Potomac between 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 1/8 and 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 1/9.  Forced entry; property taken.

B3 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 8400 block of Magruder Mill Court, Bethesda between Thursday, 1/10 and Monday, 1/14.  Property was taken from an open garage.
    • A theft occurred at the Safeway, 10104 River Road, Bethesda on Thursday, 1/10 between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.  Property was unknowingly taken from the victim. 

B4 Beat:

  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 11100 block of Smokey Quartz Lane, Potomac on Friday, 1/11 at 8:20 p.m.  The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Male, 53 yrs. old, from Potomac. 

  • Two thefts from vehicles occurred between Saturday, 1/12 and Sunday, 1/13 in this Potomac beat.  Both vehicles were unlocked.
    • From 11:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the 13600 block of Maidstone Lane.  Nothing taken.
    • From 7:25 p.m. to 7:25 a.m. in the 13700 block of Canal Vista Court.  Took cash & coins.

D1 Beat:

  • Graffiti was painted in the playground area of Rock Creek Elementary School, 8330 Grubb Road, Chevy Chase sometime on Wednesday, 1/9 or Thursday, 1/10.

    • On Thursday, 1/10 between 8:40 a.m. and 3:05 p.m. in the 100 block of Hamilton Avenue.  Unknown entry; property taken.
    • On Thursday, 1/10 between 6:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Melbourne Avenue.  Forced entry; property taken.
    • Between 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 1/9 and 12:44 p.m. on Thursday, 1/10 in the 9400 block of Brookville Road.  Forced entry; property taken.

  • On Thursday, 1/10 at 2:57 a.m.  The suspects assaulted the victims and obtained property.

Suspects: (4) B/Ms, 18-20, wearing black jackets, one wore tan cargo pants.

  • A robbery occurred in the 8000 block of Garland Avenue, Takoma Park on Wednesday, 1/9 at 10:03 p.m.  The suspects assaulted the victims and obtained property.

Suspects: B/M, 28-30, black mask, black jacket, black gloves, black pants;

                  B/F, 22-23, 5’7, 150-160lbs, wearing a black jacket and purple pants.

  • An attempted residential burglary occurred between 11:00 p.m. on Monday, 1/14 and 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 1/15 in the 8800 block of Glenville Road, Silver Spring.  Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

Suspect: W/M, 6’3”, 150-160.

H2 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 600 block of Northampton Drive, Silver Spring on Friday 1/11.  Unknown entry; nothing taken.

Arrested: Male, age 23, from Adelphi.

  • A residential burglary occurred on Monday, 1/9 between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Colony Road, Silver Spring. Forced entry; property taken.

I1 Beat:

  • A robbery occurred in the 11700 block of Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring on Friday, 1/11 at 9:00 p.m.  The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M, 15-18 years, 5’7”, 160-180, wearing black mask and black clothing.

  • Multiple residential burglaries occurred in this White Oak/Calverton beat:
    • On Tuesday, 1/15 in the 3100 block of Gracefield Road.  Unknown entry; unknown whether anything was taken.
    • On Saturday, 1/12 between 1:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. in the 3100 block of Gracefield Road.  Unknown entry; unknown whether anything was taken.
    • Between 9:00 p.m. on Friday, 1/11 and 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, 1/ in the 3100 block of Gracefield Road.  Unknown entry; property taken.
    • On Thursday, 1/10 at 2:24 a.m. in the 11500 block of Lockwood Drive.  Attempted entry; nothing taken.

Suspect: B/M, 16-25 years, 5’8”, wearing a black hat and white jacket.

  • On Sunday, 1/13 at 6:51 p.m. in the 1600 block of White Oak Vista Drive.  Unknown entry; unknown whether anything was taken.
  • On Saturday, 1/12 at 2:45 a.m. in the 1900 block of Bronzegate Boulevard.  Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

Suspects: (5) B/Ms, wearing masks, 5’8” to 6’4”, 140-160lbs, three were described as having dreadlocks, all wore dark clothing.

  • On Wednesday, 1/9 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Red Lion Lane.  No forced entry; property taken.
  • On Monday, 1/7 at 1:00 p.m. in the 13300 block of Octagon Lane.  Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

I2 Beat:

  • A robbery occurred on Tuesday, 1/15 at 9:51 p.m. at the Safeway, 13814 Outlet Drive, Fairland.  No further information is available.
  • An armed robbery occurred in the 13800 block of Castle Boulevard, Fairland on Friday, 1/11 at 4:20 p.m.  The suspect threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M, wearing a mask, dark clothing.

  • Eight thefts from vehicles occurred between Monday, 1/7 and Wednesday, 1/9 in this Burtonsville beat.  All vehicles were broken into between the late evening and early morning hours.  Included in the eight incidents were six incidents in which airbags were stolen.  Doors appear to have been left unlocked in six of the incidents.  Streets affected included Aldora Circle & Lansdale Court (2) incidents, Ballinger Court, Straus Terrace, Quartet Lane and Bruton Parish Lane.

J1 Beat:

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Anytime Tack Shop at the Woodland Horse Center, 16301 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring overnight from Friday, 1/11 to Saturday, 1/12.  Forced entry; property taken.

J2 Beat:

  • An aggravated assault/robbery occurred at Morningwood Drive and Sunset Lake Court, Olney on Monday, 1/14 at 10:00 p.m.  A press release was issued regarding this incident.

Arrested: Male, 17, from Olney.

  • An attempted armed robbery occurred in the 2800 block of Abbey Manor Circle, Brookeville on Sunday, 1/13 at 6:30 a.m.  The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and unsuccessfully attempted to obtain property.

Suspect: Hispanic male, 18 – 25, average height and heavy build, stubble, black hooded jacket, blue jeans, and white sneakers. 

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 4200 block of Headwaters Drive, Olney between Tuesday, 1/8 and Friday, 1/11.  Unforced entry; property taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 18000 block of Grapevine Way, Olney on Monday, 1/14 between 8:00 a.m. and 1:35 p.m.  Forced entry; property taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 17700 block of Queen Elizabeth Drive, Olney on Monday, 1/14 between 6:45 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  Forced entry; property taken.
  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the unit block of Dutchess Court, Olney between Thursday, 1/10 and Saturday, 1/12.  Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

K1 Beat:

  • A robbery occurred on Thursday, 1/10 at 9:00 p.m.  The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspects: Group of black males in their 20’s, average height and weight and wearing black winter jackets.

  • An armed robbery occurred in the unit block of Tynewick Court, Rossmoor on Thursday, 1/10 at 1:38 a.m.  The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect:  Black male.

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred at the Glenmont Metro, Glenmont on Sunday, 1/13 at 5:50 a.m.  The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspect: Black male of average height and weight, with short cropped hair.

  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road, Aspen Hill on Wednesday, 1/9 at 3:40 a.m.  The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Male, 24, from Aspen Hill.

K2 Beat:

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 13200 block of Turkey Branch Parkway, Rockville on Tuesday, 1/15 at 12:40 a.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspect: Hispanic male, 18-22, 5’9”, 170 lbs., light complexion with no facial hair, wearing a dark blue hoodie and blue jeans.

  • An attempted strong-arm robberyoccurred on Wednesday, 1/9 around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Harmony Hills Elementary School, 13407 Lydia Street, Silver Spring.  The suspect is known to the victim.
    • A residential burglary occurred in the 13400 block of Justice Road, Rockville between Friday, 1/11 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, 1/12 at 4:27 p.m.  Forced entry; property taken.
    • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 3600 block of Randolph Road, Silver Spring on Wednesday, 1/9 at 5:22 p.m.  Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

Arrested: Male, 19, from Silver Spring.

L1 Beat:

  • An armed robbery occurred on Monday, 1/14 at 10:55 a.m. at the Glenmont metro, Glenmont.  The suspects assaulted the victim with a weapon.

Suspects: three black males wearing trench coats.

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 2000 block of Randolph Road, Wheaton on Sunday, 1/13 at 7:10 p.m.  The suspects forcefully removed property from the victim.

Suspect:  black male, 18-19, 5’6”-5’8”, thin build, dreadlocks;

Suspect:  black male, 18-19, 5’8” -5’10”, 170-180 lbs., thin build, and a black mask.

L2 Beat:

  • An armed robbery occurred in the 11300 block of Elkin Street, Wheaton on Monday, 1/14 at 12:20 p.m.  The suspect unsuccessfully attempted to obtain property from the victim.

Suspect: Black male, 25, 6’, beard, wearing a gray / blue cap.

  • An armed robbery occurred at Blueridge Avenue and Amherst Avenue, Wheaton on Saturday, 1/12 at 12:54 a.m.  The suspect threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: Black male, 20-30, 5’9” – 6’1”, 150-170 lbs., wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing.

  • An armed robbery occurred in the 1600 block of Ladd Street, Silver Spring on Saturday, 1/12 at 3:00 p.m.  The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Arrested: Male, 19, from Brookeville;

Arrested: Male, 18 Wheaton.

An armed robbery occurred at Sasa Dollars and Toys, 2563 Ennalls Avenue, Wheaton on Thursday, 1/10 at 9:33 p.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Male, 14, from Rockville.

  • An armed robbery occurred at the Kiss and Ride Convenience store, 11175 Georgia Avenue, Wheaton on Wednesday, 1/9 at 9:39 p.m.  The suspects threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.

M1 Beat:

  • A robbery occurred in the 11300 block of Halethorpe Terrace in Germantown on Monday, 1/14 around 8:30 p.m.  When the adult female victim opened the door to exit her vehicle, the suspect was squatting down and leaned inside and grabbed her two purses from her lap. He then removed other property from her person.

Suspect: B/M

  • An aggravated assault occurred in the unit block of Observation Drive in Germantown on Thursday, 1/10 around 2:20 a.m.  The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Female, age 29, from Germantown

  • A residential burglary was reported in the 11800 block of Collins Drive in Germantown between 10:00 p.m. on Saturday 1/12 and 10:00 a.m. on Monday 1/14.  Forced entry; property taken.

N1 Beat:

  • Two vehicle-related thefts occurred in the 18000 block of Bent Willow Circle in Germantown around 3:15 a.m. on Sunday 1/13.  Entry was made into two vehicles through unlocked doors and sunglasses were taken from one vehicle and nothing from the other.

Arrested: Male, age 15, from Germantown

  • A vehicle-related theft occurred in the 18800 block of Bent Willow Circle in Germantown between 6:00 p.m. on Saturday 1/12 and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday 1/13.  No forced entry; property taken.

N2 Beat:

  • A strong-arm robbery was reported at Dawson Farm Road and Germantown Road in Germantown on Thursday 1/10 around 8:50 p.m.  The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M, 6’3’, all black clothing and baseball cap

P1 Beat:

  • A commercial burglary occurred at the Extended Stay Hotel, 2621 Research Boulevard in Rockville, on Saturday 1/12 just after 2 am.  Forced entry; property taken.

Suspect: W/M 35-45 years, 5’8” to 5’11, 160-190

  • An assault occurred at the Toys R Us, 600 North Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg, on Saturday 1/12 just after 4 pm.  The suspect inappropriately touched the female victim.

Suspect: H/M 18-25 years, 5’6” to 5’9”, 140-160, black ball cap, black jacket

P2 Beat:

  • Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 200 & 300 block of Chestertown Street in Gaithersburg between Sunday 1/13 and Monday 1/14.  A car charger and an empty wallet were taken.  The vehicles were left unlocked.

R1 Beat:

  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 18900 block of Quail Valley Boulevard in Gaithersburg on Monday 1/7 just before midnight.  The suspect is known to the victim.

R2 Beat:

  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 9300 block of Grazing Way in Gaithersburg on Wednesday 1/9.  The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Male, age 28, from Gaithersburg

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 19000 block of Capehart Drive in Montgomery Village between Friday 1/11 and Sunday 1/13.  Forced entry; property taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 19300 block of Clubhouse Road in Montgomery Village.  The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Male, age 40, from Germantown

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 10000 block of Stedwick Road in Montgomery Village on Tuesday 1/8 between 8 am and noon.  Unknown entry; property taken.

S1 Beat:

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the park area adjacent to 314 South Fredrick Avenue in Gaithersburg on Friday 1/11 around 9 pm.  Property was forcefully removed from the victim.
  • A strong-arm robbery occurred at South Frederick Avenue and South Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg on Sunday 1/13 around 9:40 pm.  The suspect displayed a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: H/M 25-30 years, 5’9” to 5’10”, 190-200, beard, dark green hoodie

  • Two robberiesoccurred within minutes of each other on Saturday 1/12 around 8 pm.  Both involved the same group of suspects who were located nearby and arrested:
    • Hundred block of North Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg

The suspects removed property from the victim and then assaulted the victim.

  • Unit block of Teachers Way in Gaithersburg

The suspects assaulted the victim, then removed property.

  • A commercial burglary occurred at the Burma Road restaurant, 617 South Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg, on Wednesday 1/9 just before 10:30 pm.  Forced entry; property taken.

Arrested: Male, age 27, of no fixed address

  • Eleven attempted commercial burglaries of multiple offices on the third floor of 615 South Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg were discovered in the morning hours of Thursday 1/10.  Nine showed pried marks at the front door, but no entry was made.  One office was entered but nothing was taken.  One office was entered and property was taken.

S2 Beat:

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred at Centerway Road and Snouffer School Road in Gaithersburg on Friday 1/11 around 7:50 pm.  The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: B/M and B/F

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 7600 block of Laytonia Drive in Gaithersburg on Wednesday 1/9 just after 10 pm.  The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.
  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the unit block of Cape Jasmine Way in Gaithersburg between Saturday 1/12 at 4:45 pm and Sunday 1/13 at 1:30 pm.  Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 18600 block of Cross Country Lane in Gaithersburg on Thursday 1/10 between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm.  Unforced entry; property taken.
