- Three thefts from vehiclesoccurred overnight from Monday, 12/31 to Tuesday, 1/1 in this Rockville beat:
- Between 6:00 a.m. on Monday, 12/31 and 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, 1/1 in the 11200 block of Troy Road. Unforced entry; took cash, GPS mount & charger.
- Between 1:15 p.m. on Monday, 12/31 and 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, 1/1 in the 11200 block of Troy Road. Forced entry, took a GPS.
- Between Tuesday, 1/1 and Saturday, 1/5 in the 11000 block of Schuylkill Road. Unlocked doors, took a satellite radio.

- Four thefts from vehicles occurred in the early morning hours of Thursday, 1/3 in this Rockville beat. The first victim had an unlocked door and the others were ‘unknown entry’. Loose items were taken from the vehicles:

- A burglary was reported at a construction site in the 13700 block of Travilah Road, North Potomac on Thursday, 1/3 at 5:53 a.m. Unknown means of entry; unknown whether anything was taken.
D1 Beat:
- A robbery/assault occurred in the 8600 block of 16th Street, Silver Spring on Friday, 1/4 at 5:00 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.
Suspects: (2) B/Ms, 20-30, 5’10”-6’, 150-180 lbs.
- Five thefts from vehiclesoccurred this week in the Farmington neighborhood of Chevy Chase. Assorted loose items left inside the vehicles were taken.
- In the 3500 block of Hamlet Place between Thursday, 1/3 and Friday 1/4, two vehicles were entered (no sign of force).
- In the 6500-7300 blocks of Western Avenue between Friday, 1/4 and Saturday, 1/5, entry was gained into three vehicles; two via forced entry, one via an unlocked door.

- A robbery occurred in the 8500 block of Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring on Wednesday, 1/9 at 12:45 a.m. The suspects assaulted the adult male victim and obtained property.
Suspects: (4) H/M’s, 20-29, 5’5” to 5’7”, 140-160 lbs, wearing dark clothing.
- An armed robbery occurred in the 8800 block of Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring on Saturday, 1/5 at 5:58 p.m. The suspects displayed a weapon and removed property from the victim.
Suspects: (2) B/M’s, 16-24 years, 5’7” to 5’11”, 140-190lbs, wearing black masks and dark clothing.
- An armed robbery occurred at Piney Branch Road and Garland Avenue, Silver Spring on Friday, 1/4 at 7:10 p.m. The suspects threatened the adult male victim with a weapon and obtained property.
Suspects: (2) B/M’s, 15-25 years, one having dreadlocks.
- An armed robbery occurred in the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace, Silver Spring on Thursday, 1/3 at 7:00 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.
Suspects: (2) B/M’s, 20-25 years, 5’2” to 6’1”, 125-210, with dreadlocks, wearing
dark clothing.
- An aggravated assault occurred in the 9100 block of Linton Street, Silver Spring on Saturday, 1/5 at 10:30 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim.
- A residential burglary occurred in the 8800 block of Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring on Monday, 1/7 between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.
H2 Beat:
- Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Wednesday, 1/2 and Thursday, 1/3, in this Silver Spring beat. Vehicle parts were taken from eight Honda/Acura vehicles. These incidents occurred mostly during the late evening to early morning hours and in all of the incidents, the doors appear to have been left unlocked. Streets affected included Venetia Mill Circle (3 incidents), Hunters Gate Court and Featherwood Drive (2 incidents each), and Oakleaf Drive.

M1 Beat:
- A residential burglary occurred in the 20200 block of Red Buckeye Court in Germantown on Thursday, 1/3 between 8:30 a.m. and noon. No forced entry; property taken.
- Three thefts from vehicles occurred between Monday 12/31 and Tuesday 1/8. A fourth event occurred on 12/26 on Locustdale Terrace in Germantown and all but one occurred between 7:55 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
- In the event reported in the 20000 block of Appledowre Circle in Germantown, the suspect took the victim’s purse from her unlocked vehicle as she unloaded groceries.
- In the event reported in the 19900 block of Appledowre Circle in Germantown, the victims were sitting inside of their vehicle when the suspect opened the unlocked passenger door, grabbed the victim’s purse and fled.
- In the event reported in the 20000 block of Gateshead Circle in Germantown, the victim left her belongings on the vehicle floorboard and went inside of her residence for about 15 minutes. When she returned, she found that entry had been forced into her vehicle and her laptop, purse and iPod were taken.

- An attempted commercial robbery occurred at the Damascus Dollar Tree Store located at 9809 Main Street in Damascus on Sunday 1/6 around 7:00 a.m. The suspect unsuccessfully attempted to obtain property from the victim.
Suspect: W/M, 6’2 to 6’3, 180-195
- Two thefts from vehicles occurred on English Meadow Way in Gaithersburg on Wednesday 1/2 and Friday 1/4. Entry was made to both vehicles through an unlocked door. Loose change was taken in one event and an iPod and cash was taken in the other.
