COVID-19 Numbers: 460 New State Cases, 59 in Montgomery County
The Maryland Department of Health reported 59 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County Wednesday morning. Since the first case confirmed in March, the cumulative case count for the county has climbed to 23,194.
The county has a rolling seven-day average of 2.46% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is a lower rate than 15 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions. The rate remains below 3% for more than three weeks.
Wednesday the health department reported one new COVID-19 death in Montgomery County, bringing the pandemic death toll to 811.
Montgomery County has led the state in coronavirus-related fatalities. Prince George’s County, however, has recorded over seven thousand more coronavirus cases in total since March.
Wednesday the state recorded 460 new infections, bringing its total to 128,664. Six new deaths were reported Wednesday, making the pandemic death toll 3,829.
The state reported a rolling seven-day average of 2.9% for positive COVID-19 tests Wednesday. This is the second straight day since Sept. 26 that the average decreased.
