County’s 2021 Energy Summit Early Registration Ends April 9

From May 4 through May 6, The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) National Capital Region will be hosting the 2021 Montgomery County Energy Summit.

The Summit’s annual purpose has been to offer education centered around green building, energy efficiency, renewable energy and related topics relevant to projects in the county. The Summit aims to reach those who have the ability to make big changes in sustainable energy use across the county and greater DMV area including building owners, property managers, developers, energy contractors and other sustainability professionals.

This year’s theme is “Resiliency, from Building to Community” which the Summit says “will explore strategies, technologies, and case studies focused on enhancing the resiliency of the commercial, multifamily, and residential built environment.” They express not only the importance of adapting to changing climate hazards but also the necessity of our economy and public health to become more resilient.

This will be the second year of the summit being held virtually. Last year, there were 330 attendees. Registration is open now and the “Early Bird” pass can be purchased at a discount for $70, closing April 9. After April 9, full summit passes can be purchased for $85. For those who do not wish to attend the entire weekend-long event, they are providing an option where attendees can purchase separate passes for each day for $30 to $45.
