County Video Highlights Overcrowding in Schools (Video)

A new video featuring Montgomery County Public Schools administrators, principals, teachers and students emphasizes the County’s need for additional school construction funding.

The County Council and County Executive Isiah Leggett have joined in asking the Maryland General Assembly to provide additional State funding for school construction. The Council is now reviewing the County Executive’s proposal to include additional local funds as part of an effort to address facility needs.

Council President Craig Rice and County Executive Leggett are scheduled to meet today with members of the General Assembly in an effort to have additional school construction funding included in the State’s budget. At 6 p.m. today, they will join elected and school officials, parents and teachers on the mall outside the State House in Annapolis at a rally sponsored by the Montgomery County Council of PTAs to support the County’s school construction initiative.
