County to Host Virtual Addiction Conversation June 30

A free online session about addiction will be open to the public on Wednesday, June 30 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Montgomery County’s Department of Health and Human Services’ Behavioral Health and Crisis Services team staff will use the meeting to talk about addiction signs, symptoms, treatments and services, according to a press release from the county.

Some examples of services provided by DHHS that will be covered in the session are Medication Assisted Treatment and the Adult Drug Court treatment program. All of the presenters work in one or both of these services.

This presentation will be a part of a series called the Wellness Community Events: Healing and Holding On-One Conversation at a time for the Community. This series will help educate the county on wellness and mental health issues amid the pandemic.

The event does not require registration and can be viewed on County Cable Montgomery, the county’s Facebook page, or via Microsoft Teams. The county’s mental health section of their COVID-19 website and the email address hhsmail@montgomerycountymd.gov are resources for more information about this event and other wellness sessions and topics. Updates on the COVID-19 pandemic can be found at the county’s Facebook and Twitter.
