Ever since the Department of Permitting Services launched eServices back in 2014, officials have seen a significant decrease in the approval time.

The new service allows residents and businesses to apply and file for building permits online.

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett plans to highlight the benefit of eServices at a meeting on Nov. 17.

“The big highlight is that the approval time for commercials permits has decreased more than 50 percent over the last 2 years,” said Montgomery County Spokesperson, Judy Stiles. “They’ve gone from an average of 25 weeks to an average of 12 weeks.”

The meeting will take place in the Department of Permitting Services Lobby in Rockville.
