County Report This Week Wins Hometown Media Award (VIDEO)
County Report This Week is the winner of an Alliance for Community Media award for best magazine show.
“The staff at County Report This Week work tirelessly, year-round, to bring our residents and businesses all the news from around the County ensuring everyone stays involved via the PEG channels and the Internet,” said Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett. “Winning this award again from the Alliance for Community Media acknowledges their innovative and dedicated efforts.”
The Hometown Media Awards by the Alliance for Community Media are designed to honor and promote community media and the local cable programs that are distributed on Public, Educational and Governmental (PEG) access cable television channels. Awards are presented to creative programs that address community needs, develop diverse community involvement, challenge conventional commercial television formats and move viewers to experience television in a different way.
Montgomery Community Media (overall excellence winner in PEG access) and Montgomery College (overall excellence winner in Education access) also won awards for their work in 2015.
