June 21 or 22: Walking Tour of Arlington National Cemetery

For 55 and up. Spend a day learning about one of our nation’s most hallowed sites. Plantation, home, museum, strategic military center, burial ground and national cemetery: Arlington has been all of these. Trace two centuries of history while visiting the final resting place of presidents, statesmen, and heroes. Details include the Kennedy Gravesite, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Arlington House, the Old Guard, and more. Along the way, we will examine rituals and symbolic unique facts about this iconic memorial site. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. Cameras are permitted but security measures are in place. You will use the National Park Service tram to visit some of the more distant sites. Lunch on your own at Pentagon City Mall Food Court.
