County Ranks Highest in Health Ratings in Maryland

Montgomery County was ranked as the healthiest county in Maryland, a county statement said Wednesday.

The ranking, completed by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, compared counties within each state on more than 30 factors including education, jobs, housing, exercise and commuting times.

According to the 2017 ranking, the four other healthiest counties in Maryland are Howard, Carroll, Frederick, Talbot and Calvert counties.

The data were compiled from surveys based on samples of the population with the counties, much like the surveys and polls conducted during election years.
