County PTA Addresses New MCPS Online Learning Phase and Grading System
Montgomery County Public Schools recently entered Phase III of online learning for students. There’s also a new grading system in place. These are some of the educational adjustments both students and parents face during the COVID-19 health crisis.
It’s been about two months since students have engaged in virtual learning, and MCPS officials say they have been providing enriching instruction, support, and resources. Phase III of online learning in MCPS began on May 18 and will end on June 15 – the last day of school. The phase includes continued lessons and instructional activities in both live and recorded formats.
Montgomery County Council of Parent-Teacher Associations President Cynthia Simonson explains how the adjustment has been from a parent’s perspective.
MCPS says staff will continue to develop a comprehensive plan for the recovery of learning and the eventual reopening of schools.
