Thefts From Vehicles Summary, March 5 to March 13

Bethesda District:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between March 8 and March 13. Affected streets included Edward Avenue, Rossmore Court, Ipswich Road, Valerian Lane and Antigua Terrace. No force; cash and property were taken.

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between March 8 and March 10. Two thefts occurred in the 4600 block of Harrison Street and one theft occurred in the 6500 block of Stratford Road. No force; cash was taken.

Silver Spring District:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred during this reporting period. Affected streets included Silver Spring, Dartmouth, Mississippi and Georgia avenues; Bonifant Street; Ellsworth and Blair Mill drives; and Colesville Road. Force was reported in multiple events; cash and property were taken.

Police arrested a 21-year-old Silver Spring man for a theft from vehicle in the 10000 block of Renfrew Road about 12:46 p.m. March 7. No force; change was taken.

Wheaton District:

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between about 6 p.m. March 6 and about 8:20 a.m. March 7. Affected streets included Valleywood Drive; Lindell and Medway streets; and Weisman Road. Force; property was taken.

Germantown District:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between March 9 and March 11. Affected streets included Charity Lane, Charity Court, Tapwood Road and Red Rocks Drive. No force; cash and property were taken.

Montgomery Village District:

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between about 5 p.m. March 6 and about 11:30 a.m. March 7. Two thefts occurred in the 100 block of Orchard Drive and one theft occurred in the 200 block of Chestertown Street. No force; cash was taken.

Other incidents:

Rockville District:

Police seek a man for a commercial burglary at the Micro Center at 1776 E. Jefferson St. in the early morning hours of March 12. Forced entry; merchandise was taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at the Public Storage at 455 E. Gude Drive between about 6 p.m. March 9 and 2 p.m. March 10. Forced entry; property was taken.

Bethesda District:

A residential burglary occurred in the 2800 block of Washington Avenue in the early morning hours of March 12. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

A 22-year-old Kensington man was arrested in connection with a burglary at The Children’s Center at 1 Westmoreland Circle in the early morning hours of March 13. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

Silver Spring District:

Two men in their late teens are sought for a residential burglary in the 1700 block of Mount Pisgah Lane about 11:30 a.m. March 6. Forced entry; property was taken.

A residential burglary took place in the 11200 block of Oakleaf Drive between about 6:15 a.m. and about 4 p.m. March 9. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

Four men are sought for an aggravated assault in the 11200 block of New Hampshire Avenue about 7:51 p.m. March 6. One man displayed a weapon.

Two men are sought for a residential burglary in the 11600 block of Lockwood Drive about 11:45 a.m. March 7. Forced entry; property was taken.

Police seek two men, between the ages of 20 and 25, for a residential burglary in the 14000 block of Castle Boulevard between about 6:30 p.m. and about 9 p.m. March 13. Forced entry; property was taken.

Wheaton District:

A residential burglary occurred in the 600 block of Olney Sandy Spring Road between about 9 a.m. and about 3:40 p.m. March 13. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

Police seek a man, between the ages of 20 and 29, for an armed robbery in the 4000 block of Postgate Terrace about 7:20 p.m. March 9. The man displayed a weapon and took the adult male victim’s property.

Residential burglaries occurred in the following areas:

  • In the 11700 block of Fulham Street between about 12:30 p.m. and about 6:07 p.m. March 6. Forced entry; nothing was taken.
  • In the 12100 block of Valleywood Drive between about 7:19 a.m. and about 3:45 p.m. March 12. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

A Silver Spring boy, 16, was arrested for vehicle theft in the 800 block of Hyde Drive about 7:55 a.m. March 13. No force; the vehicle was reported to have been left running with the keys in the ignition. The vehicle was recovered nearby the same day.

A residential garage burglary and vehicle theft occurred at the same home in the 2100 block of Cambridge Park Court between about 9:30 p.m. March 5 and about 10:30 a.m. March 7. No signs of forced entry into the garage; the vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with the keys left inside the vehicle.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 2800 block of Schoolhouse Circle in the early morning hours of March 7.

Germantown District:

Police seek a man, between the ages of 20 ad 29, for an attempted residential burglary in the 20400 block of Honeycrisp Lane about 3:39 p.m. March 9.

Aggravated assaults occurred in the following areas:

  • In the 13500 block of Derry Glenn Court about 5:30 a.m. March 5. A man displayed a weapon and assaulted another man.
  • In the 11900 block of Rustic Farm Court about 8:35 p.m. March 8. The suspect displayed a weapon. Police arrested a 46-year-old Germantown man.

A residential burglary occurred in the 13300 block of Waterside Circle between about 4:30 p.m. and about 8 p.m. March 9. Forced entry; property was taken.

Montgomery Village District:

A residential burglary occurred in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Road between about 7 a.m. and about 3 p.m. March 8. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Police seek two men for a strong-arm robbery in the 10000 block of Stedwick Road about 6:40 p.m. March 8. The men assaulted the adult male victim and took his cash and property.

An attempted commercial burglary occurred at the Kerman Law Office at 7600 Lindbergh Drive between about 6 p.m. March 9 and about 1:30 p.m. March 12.
