County Leaders to Host Community Conversation on Racial Equity and Social Justice Tomorrow

The Montgomery County Council, County Executive Marc Elrich, and several other county leaders are hosting the first Community Conversation on Racial Equity and Social Justice tomorrow night.

The purpose of this meeting is to allow county residents to engage with the county government and voice opinions and experiences on the topics of race, racial equity and social justice in the wake of growing diversity within our communities.

“Our population is growing, both in numbers and in diversity—this did not happen overnight,” said Council President Nancy Navarro. “Community engagement is the most important factor to ultimately achieve the goals of the racial equity and social justice legislation that the Council will introduce this fall.”

The meeting will be held tomorrow night, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building located at 1 Veterans Plaza. For more information, visit the Racial Equity and Social Justice Policy page on the county’s website.
