County Leaders Consider How Shortage of Vaccine Doses Will Effect Operational Plans

According to county leaders, the number of allotted COVID-19 vaccine doses has slightly decreased on a federal and state level.

During County Council President Tom Hucker’s media briefing on Monday, local health officials said the mass vaccination site at Montgomery College’s Germantown campus did ‘tremendously well’ last week by administering about 3,000 doses on Thursday and Friday alone. However, the shortage in doses could alter days of operation at county-run vaccination sites over the next couple of weeks.

“Preliminarily, we are looking at not having any operation platforms on the weekends,” said County Deputy Health Officer Dr. James Bridgers.
