County Launches Public Health Emergency Grant Website

Montgomery County has launched the website for the $20 million Public Health Emergency Grant program for businesses with 100 employees or less.

The PHEG program’s website contains information for businesses on the grant applications, updates on the program and a link to the application. The program will benefit both for-profit and non-profit businesses as well as businesses with no employees, including sole proprietors and independent contractors, according to the county.

The PHEG program, an effort between County Executive Marc Elrich and the council, is in place to supplement federal and state programs put in place to help businesses survive the coronavirus crisis, according to the county.

Before applying for the grant, the county is asking businesses to look at and apply to other assistance programs that they are eligible for.
