County Executive to Honor National Service Recognition Day

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett will join municipalities and jurisdictions across the country to spotlight the impact of national service and thank those who serve on April 1 at 1 p.m.photo Isiah Leggett presenting budget

Leggett will present a proclamation recognizing National Service Recognition Day in the County Executive’s Conference Room in the Executive Office Building.

In Montgomery County, national service is represented by AmeriCorps and VISTA members and Retired Senior Volunteer Program volunteers.

Joining Leggett will be Bridget Newton, Mayor of City of Rockville, Theresa Testoni and Shirley Sagawa from the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism, Angela Roberts, associate director of Senior Corps
Corporation for National and Community Service, Beth Isen, RSVP volunteer, and Katie Sayago, former AmeriCorps member and current events coordinator for the Montgomery County Volunteer Center.
