County Executive Leggett Statement on Merger of Marriott and Starwood

Marriott and Starwood stockholders today voted to approve Marriott’s acquisition of Starwood. Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett released the following statement about the merger of Bethesda based Marriott International and Starwood Hotels:

“I am delighted that Marriott shareholders this morning approved the company’s merger with Starwood. Congratulations to Marriott President and CEO Arne Sorensen and his team for an excellent job of acquiring Starwood and winning approval of the merger. We in Montgomery County look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with this impressive new organization.”
