County Councilmembers to Attend Retreat on Monday, PHED Committee Meets

Montgomery County Councilmembers are scheduled to attend a retreat on Monday at Rockwood Manor on MacArthur Boulevard.

The Jan. 11 retreat is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and it is open to the public.

At 2 p.m. on Monday, the Council’s Planning, Housing and Economic Development Committee, also known as PHED, meets to discuss the Montgomery Village Master Plan. According to a Council news release, a major change would involve development for the privately owned former golf course that runs through the middle of the community, but that has closed due to economic reasons.

On Friday, some Councilmembers and staff toured the area that will be discussed.
