The Montgomery County Council’s Health and Human Services (HHS) Committee will hold a worksession on proposed Bill 12-16 that would gradually increase the County’s minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2010, according to a press release.

The discussion will take place in the Seventh Floor Hearing Room of the Council Office Building at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday Dec. 7.

If the bill is passed, the County’s minimum wage would increase to $12.50 in 2018, $13.75 in 2019 and $15 in 2020. In addition, the bill would require that beginning in 2021, annual adjustments to the minimum wage would have to be made according to the annual average increase.

Recently, activists rallied downtown Rockville to voice their support of Bill 12-16.
