“Everyday is Earth Day in our department,” said Feldt. According to Feldt, there are several green events coming up this week, including Tree Montgomery which celebrates the planting of 1,000 trees in the past two years. Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd.

Feldt also announced that the county is making great progress towards its 70 percent recycling goal.

“We are tracking at over 60 percent recycling and diversion of our waste streams,” she said.
