UPDATED 11-27-15 Montgomery County Councilmember Tom Hucker went out of town to celebrate Thanksgiving Day, and was unable to attend this year’s 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner in Silver Spring. The Office of Tom Hucker attended the event.
Councilmember Hucker did share the following Thanksgiving message with community members on County Cable Montgomery:
11-25-15 Montgomery County Councilmember Tom Hucker will be celebrating Thanksgiving weekend with community members. He will be joining Share Our Strength and Hope Restored for the 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner in Silver Spring on Nov. 26th.
According to a news release, the event is free for everyone in the community and dinner will be provided by Nando’s Peri Peri and AG Kitchen with beverages donated by Coca Cola.
“Thanksgiving is a moment where we take stock of what we are thankful for,” Councilmember Hucker said. “Thanksgiving is also a time when we give something of ourselves. So many Montgomery County residents are taking time this season to make sure their neighbors have a warm meal and a safe place to stay,” he said, “our community dinner is truly emblematic of who we are—the sense of mutual responsibility, and we come together to make tomorrow better than today.”
The event will be held at the Silver Spring Civic Building located at 1 Veterans Plaza from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26th.
