County Council Meets on Oct. 8

Starting at noon on October 8, the County Council will meet informally with the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) President Rick Politt and Executive Director Michael Sandersons as Montgomery County joins with other counties across the state in preparing for the upcoming 2014 session of the Maryland General Assembly. Councilmembers will express their priorities as the General Assembly session approaches.The meeting will take place in the Sixth Floor Conference Room, is open to the public, but will not be televised.

Just prior to this meeting, The Council’s morning session will begin at 11 a.m. in the Third Floor Hearing Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville. The session will be televised live by County Cable Montgomery (CCM—Cable Channel 6 on Comcast and RCN, Channel 30 on Verizon). The broadcast also will be streamed through the County’s website at . It will be repeated starting at 9 p.m. on October 11.

During the morning session, the Council will recognize the Hearts and Homes for Youth organization as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
