Council President Craig Rice Meets with Media on March 10

Montgomery County Council President Craig Rice will meet with members of the media on March 10, to discuss key items that will be facing the County Council and its respective committees in the near future.

Among the issues Rice is expected to talk about is the possibility of the Maryland General Assembly providing additional funding for school construction. Rice was among the local officials in Annapolis on March 6 seeking to secure support for school construction funding.

Rice’s meeting with media members will begin at 11 a.m. in the Sixth Floor Conference Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville.

Rice is also expected to address the decisions the Council has made regarding the proposed limited master plan amendment for Clarksburg. Another topic he will discuss is the Council’s decision on the rewrite of the County Zoning Ordinance, which was approved on March 4. He also is expected to address the future of the Old Blair High School auditorium. The Council’s Government Operations and Fiscal Policy Committee is scheduled to discuss re-use of the auditorium in Silver Spring at its 2 p.m. meeting on Monday.

MyMCMedia will post a video of Rice’s briefing on the MyMCMedia website later today.
