Council President Rice Briefing Set for April 21

Montgomery County Council President Craig Rice will meet with members of the media at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 21, to discuss key items that will be facing the Montgomery County Council and its respective committees in the near future.

Among the issues Rice is expected to discuss are the recently released Office of Legislative Oversight report on County high schools, School Resource Officers (SROs) and efforts to obtain sewer service for the Clarksburg historic district.

Council President Rice’s meeting with media members will be held in the 6th floor conference room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville.

Council President Rice also will offer updated perspectives on County Executive Isiah Leggett’s recommended Fiscal Year 2015 operating budget. The recommended budget recently was the subject of five Council public hearings that had more than 150 people testify. The Council is scheduled to adopt a budget by late May for the new fiscal year that begins July 1.

Council President Rice intends to hold regular briefings to help explain and expand on upcoming issues facing the Council and the County in general.
