Council President Press Conference (Video)

“Enough is enough,” said Montgomery County Council member Roger Berliner at a July 9 press conference that focused on Pepco’s response to the power outages following the severe storms that hit the area on June 29. On all levels, Berliner said, Pepco’s performance “unacceptable.” He said the company “failed to perform” and he talked about asking the state legislature to give Montgomery County the authority to consider “public power.” He also estimated the storm cost the county’s residents a billion dollars.
