Council President Craig Rice to Meet with Media on June 30
Montgomery County Council President Craig Rice will meet with members of the media at 11 a.m. on June 30, to discuss key items that will be facing the County Council and its respective committees in the near future. At the briefing, he will address the results of the June 24 Maryland primaries, which will lead to two new members on the Council following the November general election. He also will talk about what should be interpreted by the low voter turnout.
Council President Rice’s meeting with media members will be held in the 6th floor Conference Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.
On Monday, Council President Rice also will discuss the White Oak Science Gateway Master Plan that the Council will be examining in the coming weeks. The Council’s Planning, Housing and Economic Development Committee will hold its first worksessions on the plan on July 1 and 3. The master plan will have great impact on eventual development on the east side of the county, particularly in the Route 29 corridor.
Rice intends to hold regular briefings to help explain and expand on upcoming issues facing the Council and the County in general.
