Council President Rice News Conference (Photos & Video)
UPDATED Montgomery County Council President Craig Rice met with members of the media on Feb. 3 to discuss key items facing the County Council and its respective committees in the near future. This was his third meeting with the media since he became Council President.
There were a variety of topics addressed at the meeting including an upcoming leadership summit, Ten Mile Creek, changes to the way the county does business when it comes to small business and procurement, the Purple Line, proposed public campaign financing bill, the county’s Planning Board Chair, the need for school construction funding, the Feb. 4 White Oak public hearing and the status of the Silver Spring Transit Center.
At his side was newly appointed District 5 Councilmember Cherri Branson, who also answered a question about the proposed bill on public financing of county campaigns.
Rice said he intends to hold regular briefings to help explain and expand on upcoming issues facing the Council and the county in general.
