Council Interviews Fire Chief (Photos)

Montgomery County Councilmembers interviewed County Executive Isiah Leggett’s appointee, Steve Lohr, for the position of Montgomery County Fire Chief today (Jan. 28).

Lohr is currently serving as the Interim Fire Chief.

Councilmembers thanked Lohr for his service and asked him questions about his background, challenges facing the department, the affordable care act, ambulance fees, quality assurance, his retirement date, diversity in the department and more.

Leggett was in the audience during the interview.

Before the interview began two protestors, who said they were opposed to Lohr’s appointment, held signs inside the entrance of the Council building. The protestors sat in the back of the room during the interview.
