Corrections Awards Ceremony (VIDEO)

The County’s Department of Correction and Rehabilitation held its 42nd Annual Corrections Awards ceremony at the Universities at Shady Grove. This year five correctional officers, specialists and other correction staff were commended for their work performance. The County’s correctional system engages the inmate population in workforce development. Last year, Labor Secretary Tom Perez visited the facility to see firsthand the one stop workshop at the county jail. Since then the federal government has allocated an $8 million grant for other jurisdictions to replicate Montgomery’s model.
