Connecting Our Community ep. 100 Scottie Rescue

On this episode of Connecting Our Community, host Karen Allyn speaks with guests from the Mid Atlantic Scottish Terrier Education and Rescue, “MASTER.” This group is located right here in Montgomery County.

Jeanne Lishia, the President & Rescue Coordinator for the Mid Atlantic Scottish Terrier Education and Rescue and Frank Lishia, a Board Member, show off two of their beautiful Scottish Terrier rescues. They discuss how they rescue all sorts of dogs, not just “Scotties,” and work to get them into loving homes. The Lishias also share some heart warming stories along with information about how the community can get involved. There are opportunities to donate goods, care for the animals and even become a foster home.

Ask Jeanne about a Scottie named Max Bowman. He escaped from his owner’s yard, Was found by a passerby, taken to a local shelter and then picked up and adopted the same day by Jeanne Lishia . She refused to return the dog to his rightful owner who has lived with that heartache of not knowing what happened to her dog, if he’s in a good home, etc.
