Montgomery County’s Community Action Board is accepting applications for its Community Advocacy Institute.  The Community Advocacy Institute is a free program aimed to teach residents basic advocacy skills and provides hands-on opportunities to advocate for important issues in the community, according to a news release.

The advocacy program includes a series of training workshops led by local advocates and elected officials to help participants develop their own advocacy projects.

In order to qualify for the program, participants must be county residents with household incomes of $54,000 or less.

Applications are due by Aug. 25.
