Summer Fun Centers
For ages 5-12: The Summer Fun Center program begins on June 22, 2014 and runs through July 31, 2014. Summer Fun Centers are one of the many Recreation gems you’ll discover this season. Our crafts, sports, drama, special events, games and activities will provide sparkle to your child’s leisure hours. The Summer Fun Center program is organized fun guaranteed to generate lots of giggles. Participants must have completed Kindergarten and be entering first grade to register. Registration for our spring softball season is underway! For adult men, women, co-rec and seniors play at parks throughout the county, each day of the week. For details, including flyers and registration go here. Registration ends March 26 with Opening Day in the middle of April.

Mid-winter blues gotcha down? No problema. Montgomery County Recreation offer five yoga classes starting new sessions in February, and for a lot less money than, say, a week in Sarasota, you can find peace of mind without that pesky blue water, sand, sunshine, palm trees and fresh grouper sandwiches:
• Massage Ball Workout—Starting Feb. 8 at Yoga Plus in Potomac;
• Yoga/Stretching For Relaxation—Starting Feb. 11 at Mid-County Community Center;
• Yoga For Stress Relief—Starting Feb. 18 at Long Branch Community Center;
• Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation—Starting Feb. 23 at Longwood Community Center;
• Body Balance Yoga—Starting Feb. 25 at Longwood.

Our spring Family Entertainment and Exciting Trips and Senior Outdoor Adventures in Recreation have something for everyone. FEET daytrips include lots of live theatre and spring arts and crafts festivals, including the fabulous Occoquan Craft Show (photo). SOAR has more history tours, Nats and Orioles baseball, and water events. Registration opens Feb. 3. For details on each event and registration, see pages 92-98 of our NEW Spring Guide.
IT’S BACK! Get chatty with our Chattin’ Up Summer customer service day Feb. 21, where we blitz Twitter and Facebook to answer your questions about summer camps and programs. You ask, we answer, and we’ll direct you in all aspects of finding the best program for your kids and getting registered. Spring has sprung! Well, sorta. Our NEW Spring Guide of activities, classes and programs arrives today, and distribution to community, senior and swim centers, libraries, and County facilities begins Monday. Registration for classes, including aquatics, opens Feb. 9.
