Comcast Xfinity Outdoor Film Festival to Benefit the NIH Charities Starts Thursday

The 21st annual Comcast Outdoor Film Festival will be Thursday through Saturday, August 24 – 26 at Strathmore, 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda. Enjoy three nights of music, food and children’s activities starting at 7:30 p.m. followed by the night’s movie which is screened at dusk.

The free event is underwritten by Comcast and produced by DTA Global with Strathmore.  A portion of the proceeds go to benefit NIH Children’s Charities including the Children’s Inn, Special Love, Camp Fantastic, and Friends of the Patients at the NIH.

The festival features a nine-story high, 52-foot wide inflatable movie screen on the lawn near the Mansion at Strathmore and Gudelsky Gazebo, located at 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring blankets or low beach chairs.

The 2017 schedule is:

  • Thursday, August 24 – Moana – PG – 1 hour 47 minutes
  • Friday, August 25 – Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – PG-13  2 hours 13 minutes
  • Saturday, August 26 – The Lego Batman Movie – PG  1 hour 44 minutes

The Film Festival is located immediately adjacent to the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro station, on the Red Line located at 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda. Parking is available at the Metro station garage.  Parking is free Saturday, and is $5.20 on Thursday and Friday. There is a pedestrian walkway on the fourth floor that connects to Strathmore.
