Comcast Xfinity Outdoor Film Festival to Benefit NIH Charities Starts Thursday
The 22nd annual Comcast Outdoor Film Festival runs from Thursday through Sunday, August 23 – 26 at Strathmore, 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda. Enjoy four nights of music, food and children’s activities starting at 7:30 p.m. followed by the night’s movie which is screened at dusk.
The free event is sponsored by Comcast. A portion of the proceeds benefits NIH Children’s Charities including the Children’s Inn, Special Love, and Friends of the Clinical Center.
The festival featuring a nine-story-high high, 52-foot wide inflatable movie screen on the Strathmore lawn near the Mansion and Gudelsky Gazebo. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring blankets or low beach chairs.
The 2018 schedule is:
- Thursday, August 23 – Coco – PG – 1 hour 45 minutes
- Friday, August 24 – Black Panther – PG-13 – 2 hours 14 minutes
- Saturday, August 25 – Lion King – PG – 1 hour 28 minutes
- Sunday, August 26 – Wonder Woman – PG-13 – 2 hours 21 minutes

The Film Festival is located immediately adjacent to the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro station, on the Red Line located at 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda. Parking is available at the Metro station garage. Parking is free on Sunday, $2 on Saturday, and is $5.20 on weekdays. There is a pedestrian walkway on the fourth floor that connects to Strathmore.
In case of inclement weather, movies are canceled.
