College Reopens Humanities Building on Oct. 8
The Humanities Building on the Rockville campus of Montgomery College will reopen on Oct. 8. Classes will take place as scheduled, but the campus will relocate classes in several first floor classrooms that are continuing to undergo water clean up efforts. Any changes to locations will be posted on classroom doors.
The faculty and offices of the Department of History and Political Science at Rockville will be temporarily relocated elsewhere on campus. History and political science students who take classes at Rockville are asked to e-mail their professors, if they need to be in touch.

The Humanities Building at the Rockville campus of Montgomery College will be closed today (Oct. 7) because of water damage, according to a note posted on the college’s Facebook page.
The water damage is the result of a small fire that broke out in a second floor office overnight.
All classes and activities scheduled for the Humanities Building (HU) are canceled, and there is no admittance to the building during this time. This closure only affects humanities at Rockville.
While the fire was quickly contained by the sprinkler system, the resulting water damage has impacted the ground, first, and second floors of the building, including a server room and electrical closet. The building’s closure today will allow campus facilities staff additional time to clean.
