Community Celebration: Civic Building in Silver Spring Turns Five (VIDEO)

The Silver Spring Civic Building is turning five, and to celebrate county officials are inviting the community to share stories, pictures, and arts at a special ceremony on Aug. 6 at 6 p.m.

In this MyMCMedia Extra, Reemberto Rodriguez, director of the Silver Spring Regional Center, invites the public to part of this event.

“What we are doing is a community celebration. This is not a gala. Not fancy. … This is basically a shout out to the folks that were here ten, twenty years ago,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said it is a “simple” event that will be enriched by residents stories, pictures, and personal connections. The gathering will take place inside the civic building in the Great Hall.

The civic building is located at 1 Veterans Place in Silver Spring.
