City of Rockville Will Host its Annual ‘Back to School Jam’ on Aug 25
Students in the city of Rockville will have the chance to receive a backpack filled with school supplies at the City of Rockville’s 17th annual Back to School Jam on Aug. 25.
Any student who lives or goes to a school in Rockville are eligible to receive the backpacks for $2, according to a news release.
More than 400 backpacks were given out during last year’s event.
Proof of address and/or school enrollment is required.
Kickoff off for the event begins at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Lincoln Park Community Center, 357 Frederick Avenue.
Donations of new school supplies will be accepted through Aug.22 Pens, pencils, crayons, paper and folders can be dropped off at the following collection locations:
- Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave.
- Lincoln Park Community Center, 357 Frederick Ave.
- Thomas Farm Community Center, 700 Fallsgrove Dr.
- Twinbrook Community Recreation Center, 12920 Twinbrook Pkwy.
- Rockville Swim and Fitness Center, 355 Martins Lane
- Rockville Senior Center, 1150 Carnation Dr.
