City of Gaithersburg Awards More Than $10,000 in Scholarships to Students

Four Gaithersburg High School seniors were selected to receive a total of $10,300 from the the city of Gaithersburg’s Character Counts! Scholarship for the 2018-2019 academic school year. The scholarships, presented in partnership with the W. Edward Bohrer Memorial Fund, City of Gaithersburg Holiday Giving Donors, the Gaithersburg Student Union, and Rotary Foundation, are named after former Mayor Bohrer.

Under Bohrer’s leadership, the city’s CHARACRTER COUNTS! program was adopted in 1996 that recognizes students who embody the six pillars of character.

This year’s recipients are Kiara Navarrete Aguilar, Maria Del Rosario Contreras, Ivana Samuels and John Woodward.
