Churchill Hockey Honored by County Council (PHOTOS & VIDEO)
The Winston Churchill High School ice hockey team was honored by the Montgomery County Council on March 24 for their winning record and ranking as the No.1 team in the Washington area by the The Washington Post.
Coach Ray McKenzie’s team from Potomac finished with a 20-1 record, scored 162 goals this season while allowing opponents only 22; won its third Maryland Scholastic Hockey League championship in five years and became the first Maryland public school ice hockey team to finish a season ranked No. 1 in the Washington area by The Washington Post. Councilmember Roger Berliner presented a proclamation to the team on behalf of the Council.
