Chevy Chase Police Seeking Re-Accreditation
Chevy Chase Village Police Department is seeking re-accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA or ‘Commission’). As part of the accreditation process, the CALEA team will be onsite on April 7, to examine all aspects of the Chevy Chase Village Police Department’s policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
As part of the assessment process, agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments (limited to 10 minutes maximum) about the Department either by phone or in person as follows:
- Telephone: Call (240) 876-1493 on Monday, April 8 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The assessment team will take comments directly from callers during this time.
- In person: Beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8 at the Village Hall, 5906 Connecticut Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD 20815
- By mail: Send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, Virginia 20155.
Comments must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards. A copy of the standards manual is available for review 24 hours a day at the Chevy Chase Village Police Department.
