Cheers of Joy Fundraiser Set for May 8 (VIDEO)

Local filmmaker Nancy Frohman is producing and directing a documentary titled “Cheers of Joy: Road to the Special Olympics World Games.” For the past year Frohman has been filming Montgomery County’s JOY Cheerleading Squad as they work to send a team to the next Special Olympics World Games. The World Games take place in Los Angeles July 25 to August 2.

Frohman and Towson University at Shady Grove Student Council for Exceptional Children are hosting a fundraising event May 8 at the Universities at Shady Grove at 7:30 p.m. The event includes live music, JOY Cheerleaders demonstration, refreshments, silent auction and a short reel from the documentary.
