Celebrate Youth Sports at 2nd Annual Gaithersburg SportsFest

Gaithersburg’s youth will get a chance to shoot, toss, kick and run at SportsFest coming up in Gaithersburg next month.

The second annual SportsFest, is scheduled for Saturday, July 19 from 8:30 to 11 a.m.

Youth entering grades K through 8 can participate in a 1K Fun Run followed by challenges in baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and track and field. The free event will take place at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm, 506 S. Frederick Ave.

The Gaithersburg Sports philosophy of participation over competition will be on display as the day kicks off with a 1K Fun Run through Bohrer Park at 8:30 a.m. After that, participants can test their skills as they visit each of the challenge stations located on the front lawn and inside the Activity Center. After completion of events, participants will receive a prize. The event will also feature “Coach G,” the official Gaithersburg Sports mascot, and members of the City’s own Gaithersburg Giants.
