Cartier Jewelry Store Robbed

Montgomery County detectives are investigating the robbery of a jewelry store that occurred on April 30 in Chevy Chase.

Police said at approximately 11:08 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to the Cartier jewelry store located at 5471 Wisconsin Avenue for the report of a robbery that had just occurred. According to investigators, multiple suspects wearing gloves and masks entered and took control of the store for less than one minute. During that time, police said, the suspects broke a display case in the rear of the store and removed property. Four employees were inside the store but not injured, according to police.

Upon arriving at the jewelry store, officers observed the suspects leaving the scene in a black late model Dodge Charger bearing two different license plates. A short pursuit ensued, police said, but the pursuit was ended on southbound Connecticut Avenue at the Washington, D.C. line. Police said the vehicle was last seen making a left-hand turn onto Porter Street in Washington, D.C.

Detectives are asking that anyone who has information regarding this robbery and/or the suspects involved (and has not already spoken to police) to contact the Robbery Section at 240.773.5100. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.
